100% British Kent Romney 

This British Kent Romney hand-dyed combed top is beautifully lustrous, and takes colour with a lovely depth.  Romney is one of my favourite fibres to spin because it has loads of character.  It great for spinning finely, but also makes a good woollen yarn, as it has quite an open character, so creates a lovely, lofty yarn.  I find it easy to wear next to my skin. 

Romney is a wonderful wool for beginner spinners, because it's easy to draft, and the staple length is on the longer side. 

• Staple length is around 5-6 inches. 
• It has an open hand, and is easy to draft. 
• Micron count between 30 and 36 (medium softness).

It works beautifully for sweaters, socks, hats and mittens.  It spins like a dream and also felts very well.

Each braid weighs approximately 50g.
