Spinning hand-dyed Shetland wool is a wonderful experience. This combed top is a humbug blend of different coloured wools, including white, grey, moorit (soft red-brown) and dark brown, giving it fantastic depth of colour.

• Staple length is around 3.5 inches
• Beautiful open texture that suits fine and chunky spinning
• Micron count between 23-30 (fine to medium)

Shetland wool is soft enough to wear next to the skin for most people. It's springy, beautifully textured, strong and water resistant. You can use it for for socks, sweaters, hats and mitts, and of course, for shawls.  Shetland spun very finely has traditionally been used for lace shawls of exquisite delicacy.

Each braid weighs 50g.
