This blend of fibres contains wools of superlative texture, lustre and bounce. Gotland is a longwool that has a lovely lustre, and is warm. It adds a lovely sheen to the finished yarn. Shetland is next to skin soft while still being very textured. It also has fantastic water repelling properties. Bluefaced Leicester and Corriedale are easy to spin and very versatile – they can be used for almost any purpose because they are soft and hardwearing.
This fibre is perfect for warm winter sweaters or socks. Yarn spun from this blend will have plenty of elasticity and warmth, and the fibre will wear well without much, if any, pilling.
This is a gorgeous, highly textured blend of natural greys, midnight and royal blues. It was inspired by the midnight race to the Cliffs of Insanity in The Princess Bride, as Buttercup and her kidnappers try to stay ahead of the Dread Pirate Roberts. Who could forget the screaming eels? Not me.
Each braid weighs 100g.
