This blend is just gorgeous. The Merino is buttery soft, the way only Merino can be, and it’s also organically raised. Tencel is a sustainable plant fibre that is both biodegradable and compostable. It is also produced using a closed loop system, which recovers all the water and chemicals used in its production for reuse, rather than releasing them as waste into the environment. It’s a lovely fibre to work with – silky smooth and strong. I love the way that this blend takes colour – the Merino grabbing all the dye, and the Tencel adding a fantastic contrast. It spins up like a dream.
This is one of my favourite colourways to dye. It’s a soft cream with random splashes of pink and lilac. The magnolia trees on my road always produce a profusion of waxy flowers, each one with these delicate colours. They herald the arrival of spring, and never fail to brighten the spirits. Each braid weighs approximately 100g.
