Lindisfarne – 100g
Colours & Inspiration
Lindisfarne is an island off the coast of Northumberland in the North East of England. It was pivotal in the establishment of early Christianity in England, and a priory was established there in the 7th Century. On this tiny island, the monks at the priory worked to produce manuscripts of divine beauty, and the Lindisfarne Gospels appeared in around the 9th Century.
The deep mossy and earthy greens of this fibre are accented with gold bamboo in a glorious mix that brings to mind the wildness of the landscape and the beauty of the monks’ works.
57% Merino/ 28% Corriedale / 15% bamboo
This is a lovely mix of buttery soft Merino, textured Corriedale and slinky bamboo. The Corriedale adds strength and elasticity to the Merino, while the bamboo adds drape, shine and slubby texture. This is a lovely, soft, warm and drapey yarn, perfect for next to skin wear, particularly drapey shawls, hats and mitts.
Each braid weighs approximately 100g.
